Chinese Suction Cupping

Cupping massage brings the ancient art of "cupping therapy" to the modern day massage therapy practice. Cupping is a technique whereby a vacuum is created in a cup, drawing the skin up into the cup and separating the layers of superficial fascia.

By creating suction and negative pressure, massage cupping is used to stimulate the peripheral nervous system, and bring blood flow to stagnant muscles and tissues. It also helps to loosen adhesions, connective tissue and stubborn "knots" in soft tissue. Cups may be placed on and left stationary, or moved about as a massage.

Cupping can be used to treat various conditions such as chronic headaches, plantar fasciitis, chronic coughs, pain, and decreased range of motion.
